CAREER & EXPERIENCE:
Dr. Elvin D. Fajutagana is the head of our Project and Infrastructure practice. He is an experienced project management professional with over 23 years of diverse experience in the construction industry. He has worked on a wide range of projects, including roads, infrastructure, buildings, hospitals, commercial structures, and marine works. Since 2009, Dr. Fajutagana has held the positions of Project Manager and Commercial and contracts Manager at Al Huda Engineering Works in Doha, Qatar. In this role, he is responsible for the overall planning, organizing, monitoring, and controlling of project activities and resources. He also handles contract administration, procurement, claims, cost control, and payment applications.
Prior to his current role, Dr. Fajutagana demonstrated his entrepreneurial prowess as the General Manager and owner of FDE Konstrak, a construction consulting and structural design firm in the Philippines. From 2007 to 2009, he steered the company, showcasing his business acumen and strategic thinking.
Dr. Fajutagana’s portfolio boasts of several significant projects, including the construction of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education Headquarters in Doha, the O&M and Rehabilitation Programme Unplanned Works – QS Al Karaana IEP, the Early Childhood Teachers Training Center at Qatar University, and various residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects in Lusail City and other parts of Qatar. His contributions to these projects have been instrumental in their successful completion.
QUALIFICATION & RECOGNITION: Dr. Fajutagana holds a Ph.D., MBA, and several professional certifications, including Project Management Professional, Fellow of the Association for Project Management, Project Management and Construction Engineering Specialist, a Full Member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, ASEAN Engineer, and APEC Engineer. He is a registered civil engineer in both the Philippines and Qatar. His key competencies include strong project management skills, technical expertise, commercial understanding, and the ability to work effectively in multi-cultural environments.
Dr. Fajutagana is the incumbent and immediate past president of the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers Qatar Chapter, past President, and current active adviser of the Filipino Planning Engineers Association. He is also a member of the Executive Committee and Chairman of the Ways-and-Means for the successful conduct of the Philippine Independence Day 2023 Celebration in the State of Qatar.
